Astrion has an exciting opportunity for an ET-4 Aircraft Maintenance Specialist for the TMAS 2 Contract, supporting the 48 Cyberspace Test Squadron / TGED

 

JOB DETAILS

This position provides support to the 48th Cyberspace Test Squadron (48CTS) at Eglin AFB, FL in planning and coordinating with the local maintenance group for aircraft maintenance support on a Ground Instructional Training Aircraft (GITA) F-35A as well as other procurement needs within the 48CTS. Serves as GITA manager of assigned aircraft, responsible for performing, coordinating, and/or overseeing maintenance, positioning, troubleshooting, and servicing of the aircraft.

 

LOCATION: Eglin AFB, FL

JOB STATUS: FT

TRAVEL: Up to 4-6 weeks per year, within US.

 

 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS

 

  • Master’s Degree and 10 years of relevant experience with F-35A aircraft, aircraft maintenance support, and thorough working knowledge of USAF aircraft maintenance, safety publications, and technical guidance. Additional experience may be substituted for education.
  • Active Secret and the ability to obtain/maintain a Top Secret clearance - U.S. Citizenship is required for all applicants.
  • Applicable Air Force Specialty Code (AFSC) Skill Level of 7 or 9 level in Crew Chief or Integrated Avionics Career Field (2A3X7/2A3X5).
  • Must be able to obtain DOD 8570 IAT Level 2 certification (Security+) within 6 months of hire and maintain certification throughout employment.
  • coordinate with military, government, and contractor personnel, and accomplish tasks under limited supervision.
  • Ability to participate/lead formal or informal discussions with test engineers, field engineers, and aircraft and weapons analysts to determine test tool requirements.
  • Translate technical details and requirements into appropriate contractual language for submission by the customer to contracting officers.
  • Meet deadlines and deliverables, work multiple projects simultaneously and rapidly communicate recommendations, and develop courses of action.
  • Possess excellent organizational skills and ability to communicate effectively, and present technical details both written and verbally.
  • Proficiency in the use and integration of Microsoft Office applications (MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS Project) is required. Proficiency with Visio and Access is a plus.
  • Excellent self-initiative and self-motivation with the ability to work under minimal supervision.
  • Ability to work effectively in small and large team settings to solve complex problems.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS

 

  • Active Top Secret clearance.
  • Previous tow certification, engine run, intake/exhaust, and red x experience desired.
  • Experience as a Production Superintendent on F-35A aircraft.
  • Experience within unique maintenance complex working with multiple agencies for mission accomplishment.
  • Knowledge of the make-up, operation, installation, and adjustment of a variety of interrelated and/or integrated aircraft systems, subsystems, and assemblies including, but not limited to: fuel and hydraulic systems, flight control systems, instrumentation systems, engines, landing gear assemblies, airframes, and control surfaces.
  • Highly experienced with Autonomic Logistics Information System (ALIS) and associated applications.
  • Knowledge of a wide variety of parts, components, subsystems, and assemblies such as aircraft landing gear assemblies, avionic assemblies, electronic warfare assemblies, and fuel system assemblies.
  • Verifies and certifies work processes and procedures and adequacy of work accomplished by co-workers.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations, best practices, and procedures.
  • Experience documenting aircraft maintenance and equipment record keeping, both manual and automated, associated with aircraft maintenance and repair.
  • Utilize safety practices and procedures following established safety rules and regulations and maintains a safe and clean work area.
  • Schedule and coordinate routine aircraft calendar inspections and properly document in applicable aircraft maintenance system (ALIS).

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  • Performs as a member of the 48CTS overseeing multiple maintenance support contracts from multiple agencies to coordinate and support on-aircraft cyber testing.
  • Directly supports the 48CTS in planning and coordinating with contracting officers and procurement professionals for the acquisition of major equipment items for the F-35A GITA aircraft.
  • Collaborates with test engineers and program offices to collect all engineering upgrade requirements for existing aircraft testing requirements.
  • Interacts directly with System Program Offices and other services, as well as development contractors to clarify test tool requirements.
  • Drafts acquisition documentation such as statements of work/procurement work statements, proposals, task orders, sole-source justifications, contract security classification specifications (DD Forms 254), contract data requirement lists (CDRLs), independent government estimates, quality assurance surveillance plans, market research letters, green procurement statements, request for services, contract approvals, executive summaries, white papers, technical evaluations staff actions, and status reports for 48CTS approval and subsequent submission to contracting officers.
  • Works with vendors to get quotes and presents to leadership for decision.
  • Maintains the F-35A GITA contracts budget for the 48CTS. Gathers aircraft budget information monitors expenditures, tracks contract support budget levels, and prepares budgetary reports and spreadsheets.
  • Manages the acquisition of various test tools, such as software, special aircraft support equipment, power supplies, and specialized aircraft ground support equipment.
  • Coordinates for on-going maintenance and support contracts for all T3 Laboratory test equipment, predicts when these maintenance contracts will expire, and arranges for renewal to ensure the customer has no lapse in coverage.
  • Maintains support and plans for future upgrades to the T3 Laboratory located in a state-of-the-art test facility.
  • Travels within the U.S. to coordinate with contractors and customers to refine new product or upgrade requirements; may conduct preliminary in-plant acceptance tests.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Assist in managing office supplies by preparing orders, submitting for approval and purchase, and conducting inventories of existing office supplies.
  • Provides administrative support in the management of personnel, financial, operations and technical programs. Position requires substantial coordination and interfacing with other offices.
  • Serves as primary office contact for the organization, interacting with squadron customers, other organizations, and external lines of business on a day-to-day basis.
  • Supports all aspects of program/project management involves planning, developing, organizing, coordinating, and conducting organizational activities to ensure squadron policies, processes, and program elements are integrated and documented.
  • Draft request Direct Hire Actions (DHA), Personnel Action (RPA), and Draft Positions Description (PD) Classification packages actions packages, retrieve pertaining documents required from prospective candidate and submit to supervisor for review/approval/submittal of complete package.
