Astrion has an exciting opportunity for a Metrology Electronics Engineering Technician Level 3for the Field Maintenance Activity (FMA), supporting the Army Division. The Metrology Electronics Engineering Technician Level 3 for the Field Maintenance Activity (FMA), supporting the Test Equipment and Instrumentation Support Program (TEISP) in Huntsville, AL. FMA provide support to the Warfighter with excellent repair and knowledge of electrical, electronic, electro-magnetic and mechanical theories and troubleshooting methodologies to repair electronic test equipment.

LOCATION: Redstone Arsenal near Huntsville, AL

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS

 

  • High School
  • 7 years of experience with component level repair in any related Military Occupational Specialty MOS or 2 year technical trade course and study or a four year engineering technology degree.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance (U.S. Citizenship is required for all applicants)

 

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  • Component level repair with a working knowledge of various types of test equipment (i.e. oscilloscopes, signal generators, spectrum analyzers, multi-meters, multi-function test sets, etc.), and skills in their use.
  • Knowledge of electrical, electronic, electro-magnetic and mechanical theories. Knowledge of troubleshooting methodologies to repair electronic test equipment.
  • Soldering experience of both surface mount and through hole.
  • Must also have the ability supervise subordinates to include perform assignments that are not completely standardized or prescribed.
  • Must be able to select or adapt standard procedures or equipment, using fully applicable precedents.
  • Extract and compile a variety of engineering data from field notes, manuals, lab reports, etc., processing data, identifying errors or inconsistencies, selecting methods of data presentation.
  • Assist in design modification by compiling data related to design, specifications, and materials that are pertinent to specific items of equipment or component parts; developing information concerning previous operational failures and modifications.
  • Use judgment and initiative to recognize inconsistencies or gaps in data and seek sources to clarify information.
