Astrion has an exciting opportunity for a senior software engineer for the Engineering, Professional, and Administrative Support Services contract, supporting the Air Force Division.

JOB DETAILS

LOCATION: San Antonio, TX        

JOB STATUS: FT

TRAVEL:  5%

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS

• Masters degree and 12 years of directly related experience, of which 5 years must be in DoD; or 15 years of directly related experience in lieu of masters degree, of which 5 years must be in DoD; or 20 years’ experience in lieu of degree.
• Current Secret clearance with the ability to obtain Top Secret clearance

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS

• Government program office experience preferred
• Government system acquisition experience preferred
• Experience working in the agile development model preferred
• Cloud development experience preferred
• Jira and Confluence experience preferred

 RESPONSIBILITIES: 

• Apply a broad theoretical and practical knowledge of software engineering to include but not be limited to reviewing, preparing, and analyzing all types of documentation, planning, requirements, design, V&V, support, and test--to include source code, configuration files, and engineering resolution support.
• Determine operational feasibility by evaluating analysis, problem definition, requirements, solution development, and proposed solutions.
• Document and demonstrate solutions by developing documentation, flowcharts, layouts, diagrams, charts, code comments, and clear code.
• Prepare and install solutions by determining and designing system specifications, standards, and programming.
• Improve operations by conducting systems analysis and recommending changes in policies and procedures.
• Obtain and license software by obtaining required information from vendors, recommending purchases, testing, and approving products.
• Provide information by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing development and service issues.
• Develop software solutions by studying information needs, conferring with users; studying systems flow, data usage, and work processes, investigating problem areas, and following the software development life cycle.
• Plan and or implement agile acquisition/SW development techniques.
• Plan and or implement DevSecOps processes and techniques for Cloud and non-cloud applications.
